The score is a result. Understanding is the next step.
Students need relevant practice and useful feedback. Teachers need to know what that practice reveals.
For a coaching institute in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, Thalenor developed a custom JEE and NEET assessment and learning platform. It connects question preparation, assigned work, student attempts, automatic checking and performance analysis in one web application.
AI supports two different parts of the process: helping teachers prepare NCERT-focused questions before an assessment, and helping students understand answers after they have attempted it. Between those stages, evaluated responses become a shared record for student feedback and teacher reporting.

The aim was to connect teaching, assessment and the interpretation of performance, so the work involved in each assessment contributes to the next learning decision.
Completing a chapter and understanding it are different things.
A student can follow a Physics lesson yet struggle to apply the principle to a numerical problem. Another can recall a Biology definition while confusing related concepts. A class average makes those differences difficult to see.
Even identical scores can describe different preparation needs. One student may attempt most questions and make repeated errors; another may answer accurately but leave much of the assessment unattempted. Marks alone do not explain the difference.
Frequent assessments also create recurring work for teachers. The design addressed five connected needs:
Regular, relevant practice
Prepare a steady supply of questions connected to the subjects and concepts being taught.
Less repetitive assessment administration
Connect question preparation, assignment, checking and reporting instead of maintaining separate tools and registers.
Feedback beyond an answer key
Give students the correct answer and a useful explanation of the question they attempted.
Visibility into individual difficulties
Review question outcomes and patterns across assessed work without relying on one aggregate mark.
Evidence for the next lesson
Help teachers investigate class-wide difficulties and decide what needs explanation or further practice.
The assessment should help explain
what to work on next.
Relevant content is an engineering requirement.
A plausible question is useful only when it assesses the intended material and has a dependable answer.
The platform's question-creation strategy centres on relevant NCERT concepts. Subject matter and curriculum scope give generated practice an educational purpose, rather than treating a broad subject prompt as sufficient guidance.
Curriculum alignment and academic correctness remain separate questions. A problem can belong to the right chapter but contain inconsistent values, ambiguous options or an explanation that fails to support the answer. Relevance, answer consistency and clarity all matter.
Curriculum focus and examination coverage.
NCERT-focused practice does not by itself establish coverage of an examination's complete syllabus. The applicable official requirements still inform an assessment intended for a particular examination.
Official reference points include NCERT's textbook portal and the NTA information and syllabus resources for JEE Main and NEET UG.
The platform supports coaching and practice. It is not an official examination service or a claim of NCERT or NTA endorsement.
Two experiences. One connected assessment record.
For teachers
Prepare and manage assessments, examine student results and investigate the questions or topics that require reinforcement.
For students
Access assigned practice, complete assessments, receive evaluated results and revisit mistakes with explanations and solutions.
The questions a teacher assigns are the questions the student attempts. Those responses produce the result, question review and performance information. Both experiences depend on that common record.
Three formats for different teaching needs.
Daily Practice Problems
Reinforce recently taught concepts through recurring, chapter-focused practice.
Assignments
Examine selected topics or combinations of concepts outside a formal mock examination.
Mock Tests
Bring a wider set of assessed material into one attempt, followed by evaluated results and review.
Daily Practice Problems, or DPPs, reinforce recent teaching. Assignments can combine selected concepts, while mock tests examine broader assessed material. A consistent experience lets students concentrate on the questions as the scope of the work changes.
Start with the educational objective, then prepare the questions.
Preparing recurring practice involves selecting relevant concepts, writing questions, checking answers and ensuring explanations are useful. Repeating that work for frequent DPPs, assignments and mock tests can consume substantial teaching time.
AI-assisted assessment creation helps teachers prepare material without writing every question from the beginning. A teacher may need a short Physics practice set, a Biology assignment on a particular NCERT chapter or a Chemistry assessment revisiting earlier concepts.
The educational purpose remains defined by the teacher. The value comes from making recurring preparation easier while keeping the material connected to what students need to practise.
The question
Does it clearly assess the intended concept at an appropriate level?
The answer
Is it consistent with the problem and sufficiently unambiguous to support evaluation?
The explanation
Does the solution support the correct answer and communicate the relevant method or principle?
The curriculum scope
Does the material belong to the subject and learning scope the teacher intends to assess?
The focus is useful assessment material that reinforces the intended concepts and supports dependable evaluation.
Create, assign, attempt. Then turn the result into the next lesson.
The platform's features form a continuous learning process.
Follow a chapter-focused assessment through preparation, a student attempt, evaluation, explanation and teacher review. Each stage includes a relevant application screen that can be enlarged to inspect the interface details.
Begin with what needs to be understood.
The teacher prepares a chapter-focused assessment using AI-assisted question creation. The educational objective and relevant NCERT concepts define the intended scope of the practice material.
- Formats
- DPP, assignment or mock test
- Content focus
- Subject, chapter and intended concepts
- Quality
- Clear question, consistent answer and useful explanation
Curriculum relevance and answer correctness are separate requirements.
The final stage feeds the next assessment. A difficult concept can lead to another explanation, a targeted assignment or a new DPP, with earlier results providing context for the teacher.
An incorrect answer should lead somewhere useful.
Automatic evaluation compares submitted responses with the relevant answer information and generates a structured result. This reduces repeated manual checking and gives the student a direct route from submission to feedback.
The result and subsequent analytics use the same evaluated attempt. A teacher's report and a student's question review should describe the answers actually submitted, rather than separately maintained totals.
A response, a correct answer and a reason.
Question-level feedback
- Your response
- Keep the student's selected or submitted answer visible in the context of the original question.
- The correct answer
- Show the answer information used to evaluate the response.
- Explanation & solution
- Help the student understand the concept or sequence needed to reach the correct result.
A Physics explanation can clarify the principle behind a mistaken answer; a numerical solution can show the necessary relationships and steps. For Biology, the explanation should remain consistent with the relevant concept and intended curriculum.
AI-assisted explanations support independent revision while teacher guidance remains available for unresolved misunderstandings. The goal is useful, accurate feedback tied to the mistake, rather than lengthy text detached from the problem.

after the marks are calculated.
See the questions behind the score, and the patterns across practice.
One result is a snapshot. Connected assessment history gives that result context.
The platform retains performance information from DPPs, assignments and mock tests. Teachers can examine individual results and the difficulties appearing across assessed subjects, topics and questions.
Individual review
Examine a student's assessed work and identify recurring difficulties when sufficient history is available.
Question-level analysis
Investigate which questions students repeatedly answer incorrectly, rather than relying only on aggregate marks.
Subject & topic context
Understand where difficulties occur within the material actually assessed in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology.
Class-wide patterns
Look across student responses to identify concepts that may benefit from another explanation or a different emphasis in practice.
Evidence for investigation and teaching.
If many students miss the same question, the teacher can revisit the underlying concept. They can also examine the question itself: confusing wording, unsuitable options or an inaccurate answer can affect the result.
Analytics therefore inform an instructional decision. They do not automatically prove why a student struggled, measure everything a student knows or replace the teacher's judgement.
By connecting reporting to recorded attempts, the platform makes regular practice more informative without requiring staff to reconstruct results from separate marking sheets.
Shared records connect preparation, feedback and reporting.
The architecture centres on the relationship between questions, assessments, students, submitted attempts and evaluated outcomes. Teacher and student interfaces serve different tasks while drawing on the same assessment information.

Evidence for follow-upQuestion creation and explanation have different responsibilities
Question preparation starts with an educational objective and curriculum scope. Explanation addresses a question already attempted, using the original problem and correct answer as its context. Keeping those responsibilities distinct gives each a clear quality objective.
Evaluation and analytics need a consistent source of truth
An attempt must remain associated with the correct student and assessment. Its marks and question outcomes should agree, and teacher reporting should reflect the same evaluated submission visible to the student.
Question corrections need careful handling so that historical attempts are not silently reinterpreted. These are data-integrity considerations for maintaining confidence in assessment results.
Different interfaces, connected responsibilities
Teachers need assessment creation, management and reporting. Students need focused practice, results and explanations. Both experiences rely on the same questions and evaluated attempts, so an assessment can support preparation, feedback and teaching follow-up without disconnected records.
This reflects the same approach to custom software development: organise the system around the work it needs to support.
Less repetitive administration. More meaningful assessment feedback.
The platform connects the work teachers put into assessment preparation with the information students and teachers receive afterwards.
Simpler recurring preparation
AI-assisted question creation supports a regular schedule of curriculum-focused practice.
A consistent student experience
Daily practice, assignments and mock examinations share one learning environment.
Connected automatic checking
Submitted responses become results and reporting without a separate manual compilation process.
Feedback for revision
Students can revisit incorrect answers with the correct solution and an explanation.
More useful performance information
Teachers can examine individual difficulties and question-level patterns across assessed work.
A basis for the next lesson
Findings can inform further teaching, revision and targeted assessments.
These benefits describe the platform's workflow and purpose. The case study does not claim measured score increases, examination selection rates, teacher time savings or guaranteed educational outcomes.
Help teachers understand their students.
Help students understand their mistakes.
For Thalenor, the project shows how education software solutions can connect AI-assisted content, student interaction and performance evidence within one product experience.
A few practical questions.
What is an AI-powered JEE and NEET assessment platform?
It helps coaching institutes create practice questions, assignments and mock tests while connecting student attempts to automatic evaluation and performance analysis. AI assists with question preparation and answer explanations within the wider assessment workflow.
How can AI help teachers create JEE and NEET assessments?
AI can assist with preparing questions around the intended subject and concepts, reducing repetitive preparation. Curriculum relevance, correct answers and clear explanations remain essential to the academic usefulness of the generated material.
Can AI-generated questions be aligned with NCERT?
Question-generation workflows can be designed around relevant NCERT concepts and an intended curriculum scope. Alignment does not guarantee that every question is correct or that it covers an examination's complete syllabus; academic quality and applicable examination requirements still need attention.
How does automatic evaluation help coaching institutes?
It checks submitted answers and generates structured assessment results, reducing repeated manual marking and compilation. The same evaluated responses can support student feedback and detailed teacher reporting.
How can student performance analytics support JEE and NEET preparation?
Detailed results help students and teachers look beyond a total score to the questions and topics causing difficulty. Patterns across repeated assessments can inform further explanations, assignments and revision, while teachers interpret the evidence in context.
