Controlled output
The model proposes. Evidence, rules and accountable people determine the result.
A reliable document system separates extraction, validation, judgement, approval and publication instead of asking one model to do all five invisibly.
Super Intelligence is most useful in document work where language is variable. Authority still belongs to source evidence, deterministic rules and named reviewers—not to a fluent answer with no traceable basis.
- 01Preserve the source document and provenance for every extracted field.
- 02Route low-confidence and high-impact cases to a reviewer.
- 03Keep calculations, eligibility and policy rules deterministic.
- 04Generate final documents only from approved structured data and controlled templates.
The document is an interface to a process
A purchase order triggers fulfilment. A claim form opens a case. A contract creates obligations. A compliance pack proves that checks occurred. Automating the PDF without modelling the state, owner and decision behind it produces faster files but not a more reliable operation.
Begin by naming document types, sources, versions, required fields, authoritative evidence, validation rules and the decision each document supports. The goal is not “read documents with AI”; it is to move a case from receipt to an accountable outcome.
Use a staged pipeline
Capture stores the original and basic metadata. Classification identifies document type. Extraction proposes structured fields with location and confidence. Validation compares values with schemas, master data and deterministic rules. Review resolves exceptions. Publication creates the approved record, communication or output document.
- Never discard the original file or its received timestamp.
- Attach page, region or quoted evidence to extracted values.
- Version corrections instead of silently overwriting them.
- Record the reviewer, decision, rationale and downstream action.
Decide where probabilistic interpretation is acceptable
Models are strong at recognising varied layouts, summarising clauses and mapping language to categories. They are weaker as final authorities for arithmetic, policy eligibility, legal effect and identity. The system should express that difference through confidence thresholds and approval gates.
For a logistics operator, AI may extract consignee, reference and item details while a rules engine validates GSTIN format and totals. For a law or consulting firm, it may compare clauses and retrieve precedents while a professional determines advice. For an insurer, it may assemble a claim file while authorised staff decide coverage and settlement.
Protect data at the workflow boundary
Documents often contain personal, commercial and privileged information. Minimise what is sent to each processor, define retention, encrypt storage and transmission, restrict access by matter or role, and confirm whether provider inputs are used for model training. Redact or tokenise information where full identity is unnecessary.
India’s DPDP framework makes purpose and necessity central. International work may add client, sector and jurisdictional obligations. The system should be able to show what data moved where, for which purpose and under whose authority.
Measure correction cost, not extraction accuracy alone
Field accuracy can look high while the remaining errors are expensive. Track straight-through completion, reviewer time, false acceptance, missed obligations, rework, turnaround and downstream correction. Segment results by document type, source and quality.
A production system improves through reviewed exceptions. Corrections should feed evaluation sets and targeted rules, not automatically retrain a model on sensitive data. That creates a controlled learning loop with evidence.
Use this before approving the work.
- 01Map the business decision behind each document type.
- 02Preserve original, provenance and field-level evidence.
- 03Separate model interpretation from rules and approval.
- 04Restrict data, retention and access by purpose.
- 05Measure false acceptance and reviewer effort by document class.
